چکیده

Fig. 1.Axial MR images at level of mandibular condyles. nounced during Valsalva. There was no evidence of adenopathy or bruit, nor was there evidence of paresthesia or motor deficit. Oral examination was normal. MR imaging demonstrated bilateral cystic structures just anterior and lateral to the mandibular condyles (Figs. 1 and 2). CT before and after right temporomandibular joint arthrography revealed opacification of a cystic structure anterior to the right temporomandibular joint (Fig . 3). Postsialogram CT of the right parotid region revealed no intrinsic parotid abnormalities and no evidence of opacification of the previously described cystic structure (Fig . 4 ). During surgical exploration a cystic structure was dissected and excised . The right parotid gland was not dissected, as this cystic structure was anatomically separate from the gland . The patient 's postoperative course was uneventful, and he was discharged 2 days after this procedure. The final pathologic report was consistent with a ganglion cyst of the right temporomandibular joint.

Synovial cysts in the lumbar spine: MR characteristics.

Synovial cysts are cystic lesions arising from the synovial membrane of diarthrodial joints. They may or may not be continuous with the joint space, and they are usually filled with a mucinous fluid. Clinically, the most frequent presentation is lower back pain without motor or sensory impairment [1 ]. Synovial cysts can present with more classic radicular symptoms, mimicking a herniated nucleu...

Ganglion and Synovial Cyst of the Temporomandibular Joint: A Case Report and Literature Review

Ganglion and synovial cysts of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are rare. Although histopathological findings differ, clinical presentation is comparable. This study adds a case report of a ganglion of the TMJ to existing literature and a review of all available case reports on ganglion and synovial cysts of the TMJ. Including our own case report, we reviewed 49 cases of ganglion and synovial ...

Ganglion Cysts Arising from a Canine Stifle Joint

A 10-year-old, neutered male Labrador retriever presented with progressive left hind lameness. Ultrasonography revealed large, subcutaneous, ovoid cysts around the stifle joint. Radiographic and computed tomographic images revealed periosteal reaction of the distal femur. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging showed a large cyst that was hypointense in T1-weighted images, hyperintense in T2-weighted ...

Synovial chondromatosis in the temporomandibular joint complicated by displacement and calcification of the articular disk: report of two cases.

Two cases of synovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are presented, including correlation of CT and MR imaging characteristics with surgical and pathologic findings. The usefulness of CT and MR imaging in the diagnosis of TMJ disorders is discussed.

Synovial cysts of the lumbosacral spine: diagnosis by MR imaging.

Intraspinal synovial or ganglion cysts are uncommon lesions associated with degenerative lumbosacral spine disease. CT usually reveals cystic lesions adjacent to a facet joint, and they may show calcification. MR imaging of four surgically confirmed cases of intraspinal synovial cysts revealed subtle signal changes compared with CSF. Short TR/TE images showed the lesions to be slightly hyperint...
